I'm Moving!

1 min read
I've decided to move to a new account, because this one is so cluttered with stuff and I don't have time to clean it up. I will leave this account up for a while, but  please go here :iconvashedan:. I might even re-upload some of my less cringeworthy deviations there.

Thank you,
Casper

...That I am sad to say I have never done.

Perhaps one day I'll break the mould I've sealed myself into and pursue what I want to do.

Rules:
 1.) Answer the questions.
 2.) Tag two people.
 3.)
Have fun! Make the answers long or as short as you like.

~~

1. When did you discover you enjoyed writing?

Entering High school (aka Grade 9), I discovered that I loved using words in ways that differed from other peoples' writing. This was further proven when I started getting really good grades and feedback from my English 9 teachers, and it bolstered my confidence a great deal; it also further encouraged me to continue writing what I wanted.

2. What are your strengths in writing?

Details, details. Describing the thoughts of characters and the scene around them, for example. I love to describe things in ways that aren't always displayed in such a way, but I like keeping things realistic as I can.

3. Your weaknesses?

Writing dialogue. I get so frustrated because usually, I know exactly where the conversation or interjection or whatever else is supposed to happen happens, but I can't write the darned thing. Also, putting ink to paper/hands to keyboard is extremely hard, since my mind wanders fast enough to lose momentum with ideas I want to write.

4. What is your favourite genre to write in?

Humor, Suspense, and Angst. I would love to become proficient in writing fluff, but I usually fail trying to do so.

5. Do you consider yourself a good writer?

Good, but not great. I appreciate the art and that I am better at it than most, but I wouldn't go so far as to toot my own horn about my skill level. I still have so much more room to grow.

6. Do you like to let a lot of people in real life read your work?

Not usually, it really depends on whether it is an assignment or if its a personal piece/fanwork. I am very self-consious with my writing, as I see it as a private part of my world that I can experience and enjoy.

7. How often do you write?

Sporadically, aka NOT ENOUGH. My inspiration is rarely on fire, so when I do write, it often leads nowhere or turns into a one-shot. :bademoticon:

8. Who are your favourite authors? Why?

Ack, lets see how consistent my favouritism is...Rainbow Rowell, Francine Rivers, Jodi Picoult, and Bryan Davis.
Traits that I love in authors and their writing styles: The ability to realistically portray hard situations that occur in this world, their overall stynax and style of writing, and the ability to pull me in no matter the setting or the characters.

All of these authors display these characteristics in different ways, which makes each and every one of them compelling and interesting to read.

9. Do you have any OCs? If you do, describe your favourite one.

AH. This question. I've been waiting.

Her name is Winifred Laurer, and she is currently 32 (b. 1982). She is ethnically Danish, but was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She is well known by friends and family by her well loved/worn munich football jersey and her witty running commentary on the mundanity of everyday objects. Winifred is trilingual, speaking German, Danish, and later English.

She's a bit of a troublesome person, always testing the boundaries set around her, but she usually just has very curious and honest intentions. Toeing the line between social and antisocial, she blends into the background and reappears depending on her mood, and loves the sound of other peoples' voices over her own, though she can talk a fair bit herself.
She is not an assertive type, but is content with finding her own way by following another's set example.

(orz I went a bit far there, sorry)

10. If you write fanfics, for what fandoms do you do so?

Axis Powers Hetalia, Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Free!, etc...

I KNOW I DON'T POST ANY OF IT.

11. Do you perfer writing by hand or typing?

Typing, as it is easier and more accessible to me than both pen and paper together.

12. Are you a huge critic when it comes to writing?

If it is my own work, yes. If it is another's, I am more lenient but I drop reading certain works because the writing style throws me for loops or disinterests me. So, I guess you could say yes, but I am a huge softie and it doesn't take much to sway me (lol).

13. What format do you most like to write in? (Prose, short story, poetry, vignettes, etc?)

Poetry and short stories. Poetry is my go to method, followed by one-shots/short stories. I haven't been inspired to write really long works for a blue moon, but I would very much like to.

My First Tag!

6 min read
I am honestly so excited to do this, my first tag! I'm internally gushing so much right now~

I was tagged by :iconrefinedgluttony:

1)  You must post these rules.
2) Each person has to share 10 facts about themselves.
3) Answer the 10 questions asked by the person who tagged you and make up 10 questions for the 10 you tag.
4) Choose 10 people and put their icons in your journal.
5) Not something like, "You are tagged if you read that".
6) You have to legitimately tag 10 people.
7) No tag-backs.
8) You can't say that you don't do tags.
9) You MUST make a journal entry!
Obviously, if you're too busy to write a journal, you can be excused, or if you want to just answer the questions for fun, you may do so~
SO, I'll do my best!

10 Things about Me:

1.) When I'm in a conversation with someone I don't know very well, I always apologize for the silliest of things.
2.) I am a completely bookworm, and I love reading (or hearing, for that matter) a good story.
3.) I daydream so often I get lost in places I know very well and forget where I am supposed to be.
4.) I am fascinated by world history and by peoples' personal and cultural/ethnic backgrounds. So much so I could babble on and on or listen for hours.
5.) I identify as a Pascifist, though I am open to hearing other peoples views that are opposed to mine.
6.) I can never pick a favourite colour, but I love blues and monochrome shades/tones.
7.) I am extremely into other cultures and languages, and wish to pursue studying some of the langauges of my family from generations ago, such as German, Russian, Dutch (I know, we're incredibly European and Germanic~)
8.) This goes along with 7.), but I really want to go visit some friends in Osaka and possibly study Japanese in Japan (for the experience and challenged learning)
9.) I am a Virgo (Take that as you will~!)
10.) I am a Canadian and I can't skate, or eat pancakes with maple syrup without becoming physically ill. (I am such a dissapointment orz)

:iconrefinedgluttony: ~1Julivia's Questions~ :iconrefinedgluttony:

1.) What if your favorite Hetalia character proposed to you? Llama Emoji-10 (Shy) [V1]
I..would probably start babbling nonsense while trying to come to grips with the situation, and he (Prussia) would be laughing at me with that obnoxious cackle of his. I don't think I would cry, because I don't tear up easily, but I would be a bit emotional.

2.) What if you were tangled in a huge mess of a ball of yarn?
I'd struggle to untangle myself for as long as it would take (I have a bit of a stubbron streak), and I'd porbably keep trying no matter how frustrated or anxious I would feel.

3.) America. Yes or No???(welp, terrorism! XD)

Uh...(sweats nervously) N-North America, for the w-win? (I'm Canadian, don't shoot me!)

4.) Favorite time of day?
The evenings, most definetly. I feel at my prime, but only early on (I don't consider Midnight in the evening)

5.) What would your super-villain name be? (mine is Interstellar Shot)

Poly-Faced (It means many faces, but more of the art of disguised faces)

6.) Quick! Explain an exit maneuver to escape a horde of fan-girls!
Run like the devil is on your heels, turn left down a hidden driveway, climb the high chainlink fence and run to the little brick house. Now, crawl through the lower level window, and you're in some poor soul's laundry room. Close the window and squish yourself into the adjacent closet. Wait there for several hours until it's safe, and climb back out the window to freedom.

7.) Most treasured object(s)?
A doll I've had since I was small (appropriately named Big Dolly), some crumbling Mennonite German tomes from my grandmother, and a fraying braclet with beads that spell my full birth name; My Dad strung it together sometime around the day I was born or my first days alive)
8.) List the members of your reverse-harem! Racing Girl Emoji (Evil Scheme) [V4]
Prussia, Canada, Finland, Denmark, Marco Boldt, Alphonse Elric, Sohma Hatsuharu, Tachibana Makoto, Nanase Haruka, Matsuoka Rin, Mikoshiba Seijuro, Noiz.....Lovely Shoujo (Laughs) [V4]

9.) What do you search for in life? (get deep here)
Well, I search, seek and want to come to know the one, eternal love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, If you will~)

10.) Finally, what... is... your top 5 favorite songs that you recommend me? (Please note, I've listened to EVERYTHING, regardless of language,)

Alright, I have:
I.) Major to Minor: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" By Chase Holfelder
II.) "Too Close" By Alex Clare
III.) "Stars" By Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
IV.) "Ai no Rinkaku" by Kokia
V.) "God Knows" By The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

~ My Questions for You!~

1.) If you could give a complete stranger a new name, what would that name be?
2.) Write a sentence about yourself in Pig Latin (Google help if you need it!)
3.) Name the top 3 words in your respective language that you tend to misspell.
4.) What is your current/favourite fandom?
5.) Nationality and Ethnicity!
6.) You are stuck in your least favourite TV series/movie/fandom for an entire week. What do you do to stay sane and survive?
7.) Your Pet Peeves?
8.) How many names (First, middle, surname, etc) do you have?
9.) Your favourite underrated music group/band!
10.) Would you perfer to court a rich gentleperson that has bad taste and horrible In-laws, or a poorer person who has little, is a bit rough around the edges and has some issues with social interaction?

My, a 7 month break inbetween journals. How inconsiderate of me.

Hello again~ No, I am not dead.

School is busy for me, and I am eagerly drawing and writing more than I have in a long time.
Because of this and the research I have been collecting for a story I have been writing, I have a great many
ideas that I want to eventually finish, most revolving around history and other miscellaneous things that I've been putting off. So, here is the master list (in no particular order) :

1) New dA ID

A dA ID of moi. It might be a challenge since I don't really draw myself (ever).

2) Flander's Fields Backstory (one or more panel comic, to be released before or on November 11th):

The setting behind the Canadian poem : In Flander's Fields by John McCrae, (a Canadian Surgeon in WWI) containing the how, why, when it was written, and possibly the story behind it's publication. And of course, what became of it's author.

3) "Bluebirds"
The pet name of the Canadian warfront nurses in WWI. Possibly a portrait of an existing picture or and original piece of the Bluebirds based on refrences.

4) Officer David Jon Teichrob

This one is based off of my great-great-grandfather, David J. Teichrob, who served as a Guard and Officer in the Russian (White?) Army (and later the Red Army for a short time) during WWI. I am unsure at the moment if it will be a stand-alone piece or a paneled comic strip.

5) 'The Storyteller' By Jodi Picoult 'Fanart'
This book was unbelievable, and for a history buff like me, indescribable. I have two or more ideas in my head of Minka and Herr Dybbuk (I can't remember his long german title, so ha.) in his office in Appel, with her at the typewriter and he at his desk. Also, of Josef Weber and Sage Singer either in his home or at the bakery.

(So many things related to war, but I am studying both of the World Wars after all)

So, with that out of the way...Enjoy the last dwindling days of summer!
